The Pan-African Organization for Health, Education and Research (POHER) Scholars' Program is a research mentorship programme for medical students across Africa. It introduces scholars to scientific research, offers career guidance and connects them with mentors and peers.
Important: This is a mentorship programme, not a medical school scholarship. POHER does not pay tuition.
Who can apply
- Students currently enrolled in an African medical school (MD, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent)
- Expected graduation date after January 2028
- Applicants interested in research who can show leadership potential and are motivated to receive mentorship
- Students who can take part actively through the year, including virtual work-in-progress meetings and POHER webinars
Prior research experience is not required.
